again....too long

Well again it has been too long since I last posted. We have had a lot of big milestones in the Damas household since the last time we shared.

First, James is walking! He started about two months ago with a couple of steps and now he is trying to run!!! He still has a hard time keeping up with Taylor, but he is giving it everything he's got! He has started saying a few words as well. He says Momma, Dada, and more when he is eating. Today was first time he said "all done"! He also points to things and says something that sounds remarkably like "what's that". I was so excited for him. He is changing every day and I am so glad that I have this time with him.

Taylor had her dance recital in May and did a great job. Other parents told me that she was the star of the show. She is a bit of a natural performer. It will be interesting to see where this takes her in life. She also just had her 4th birthday! I can't believe how fast this is all flying by. She is now four years old and going into the pre-kindergarten class at her preschool. She is extremely smart (sometimes that works against me!). I am very eager to see what this next year brings her in school.

James just turned 1! His first year went by even faster than Taylor's did. He is turning into a little boy rather than a baby! I am having a little bit of a hard time with it, but I love watching the changes and growth in him. We just went and had his pictures taken for his birthday so I will post those soon!

I am getting to spend a lot of time at home due to my 'extended vacation'. I have been laid off this year so I am at home for the summer waiting to hear whether I get my job back or not. I have applied to several other districts and I am being very hopeful for the future. Now it is just a waiting game to find out what will happen next! We are staying very positive that something will happen and I will get another job. Let's face it....unemployment doesn't pay very well. Send me good vibes on the job front!

It's been too long!

Oh my gosh! It has been so long since I wrote anything on here! So much has happened..

James is almost 8 months old! I can't believe how fast time is flying by. He is crawling all over the house and pulling himself up on everything! I am sure he will be walking before he turns 1. Taylor's life is forever changed now that her brother is moving around and touching her stuff. She still loves him to pieces though! She hugs and kisses him all the time and tells his how much she loves him!

Taylor is almost 4 years old! I can't believe that either. She is still loving preschool and dance class. Hopefully she will get to perform in another recital this year. She is entirely too smart for her own good and it astonishes me every day! She has mastered the computer and internet. She can get online and find her disney and nickelodeon games. It only took me showing her two or three times! I can't believe how smart she is.

Mike is working for his dad and enjoying it most of the time. He has decided that going back to TDR probably isn't in the cards so he will be working for his dad indefinitely. He has also been doing some work with my dad so he has been keeping pretty busy.

I am still teaching third grade. I have decided that I would like to move back up to the older grades. I think I am a better fit with older kids. I only have one section of the Math CSET to pass and I will also have a single subject credential to teach math! I have also gone back to school to get my Master's Degree in Administration. I am in my first term and enjoying it overall. I had forgotten how much time it takes so we are all adjusting. The light at the end of the tunnel is that I will have a M.A. and an Administration credential in March of 2011. That will really help out our family with both finances and taking my career further! I am very excited.

We took Taylor to Disneyland a couple of weeks ago and she had the best time! Jamie came with us and we all had so much fun! Taylor got to meet Cinderella and after that her trip was complete...it didn't matter what happened after that! It was very exciting.

Here are some updated pictures of the kids. I will try not to let so much time pass by before I write again! I hope this finds everyone doing well.
